Sixth Form education at the Harris Girls’ Academy is a unique and rewarding experience for students who are serious about preparing themselves for their future.
Our provision combines the benefits of a small provision where individual support is available to all with the breadth of opportunity available through our close links with the whole of the Harris Federation Post 16 partnership.
We work in very close partnership with Harris Boys’ Academy, just a short walk across the park from us. Between us, we offer brand new, top quality facilities in a wide range of subjects alongside outstanding teaching, support and curricular opportunities. With both academies rated as Outstanding by Ofsted, this is the ideal place for students who are keen to learn and equip themselves for both university and the workplace.
Students at Harris Girls’ Academy are offered many chances to explore the world, engage with other professionals, grow as citizens and prepare themselves for university. Our links with a number of universities, charities and partner professionals mean that we are well placed to offer our students exposure to a wide range of employment and study opportunities. Just recently, a group of sixth formers spent time in Uganda working with paramedics and presenting an ambulance to a remote rural community.
We want all our students to succeed and our systems allow us to monitor student performance very carefully and ensure that one to one support is provided when needed. Teaching groups are small and additional intervention in place to ensure that every student is helped to achieve their high targets.
If you have something to gain from this environment, we look forward to working with you at Harris Girls’ Academy.
