Merton Campus
Sixth Form students who attend Harris Academy Merton are expected to be exceptional role models for our students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
As senior students their standard of dress and conduct around the Academy will set the high standards younger students should aspire to.
Needless to say the application to study will be matched by a willingness to participate in enrichment and support activities that are available in our local and extended community. Our Sixth Formers annually support our local food bank in the collection of food items for the most in need in our local community. They enlist the support of students across the Academy so that everyone develops their sense of responsibility towards others.
Sixth Form students are instrumental in our Student Voice and participate in discussions including Academy developments and proposals. They contribute to our established peer mentoring scheme that is offered to the younger students in the Academy. With Enterprise and Science as our specialisms, the resources are first class which enables the high standards of teaching and student achievement.
During our last Ofsted inspection the whole Academy, including the Sixth Form, was graded as ‘outstanding’. Inspectors commented on the drive and ambition of all Sixth Form students and, how being part of the Federation, has enabled the students the opportunity to have the breadth of education no one site alone could offer. With a dedicated study base and common room, Harris Academy Merton has a calm and purposeful ethos that extends throughout our secure and spacious site.
At Harris Academy Merton we strive to achieve our motto of ‘Achievement is Success’ through our collaborative work with all members of our school community.
