Sport Academies
Sixth Form students have the opportunity to partake in sporting activities through the enrichment programme. Sports on offer include football, netball, squash and tennis. Also, students can achieve coaching qualifications.
Sport at The Harris Federation
There are a number of Sixth Form teams which regularly challenge staff and other students. Success has also been achieved at the annual Sports Day held at Croydon Arena in both track and field. The Academies helps to support and develop a number of sporting activities after the Academy day.
Alongside the sporting opportunities available to all our students, you can also apply to:

Kinetic Foundation are delighted to be able to offer an individualised, innovative football and education programme for 16–18-year-olds at Harris Federation partner sites.
The Kinetic Academy programme encourages every student to stay in education and complete a university recognised course, all whilst pursuing their football dreams. This education environment, partnered with a structured football programme, provides each student with an invaluable structure to help them develop and ensures there is no compromise on educational potential.
Kinetic is extremely proud of their track record of supporting young people to secure football contracts at professional clubs – 74 young people have achieved this. Some of these players are now playing at the highest level of European and International football.
As a registered charity, Kinetic Foundation adopts a holistic approach to develop each young person as a ‘whole’ rather than from just a technical or tactical component. Alongside their excellent football provision, they deliver a volunteering programme, mentoring scheme, mental health support pillar and employability workshops on career planning.

This academy programme is offered through a partnership with Surrey County Cricket Club in support of their State School Sixth Form Cricket Programme.
The programme offers young people access to high-quality cricket coaching as well as strength and conditioning training while completing their sixth-form academic studies.
Launched in early 2023, with three partner sites initially, the programme has found success in each of its first two years, seeing an increase of 266% in the number of applicants and a 150% rise in the number of places offered in 2024/25 across eight partner schools.
Alongside delivering cricket coaching and sixth-form academic studies, the programme also supports students in learning more about cricket as a business by offering a host of employability workshops and certified courses. Such a curriculum provides them with opportunities to acquire vocational and life skills in the areas of hospitality, coaching, media, groundskeeping, and more.

We are very happy to be able to provide our students an opportunity to excel in one of the fastest growing and most exciting sports in the country.
The aim of our Basketball Academy is to provide a pathway for our student athletes that aspire to play basketball at the very highest level that they can possibly achieve. Our student athletes will be committed to their own personal development both on and off the court and will excel in the classroom and in life as well as they do on the basketball court.
Our coaching staff have decades of professional playing and coaching experience both domestically and abroad in Europe as well as in the USA. We enter an Academy select team annually into an U18 European Tournament, and for our students that have the aspiration, ability and attitude (AAA) to make it to the US for College Basketball we provide playing opportunities out in the US during the critical summer NCAA recruitment period.
All of our student athletes will be given the opportunity to undergo training that will give them professional qualifications in coaching and officiating basketball.
